A group of foreign tourists experienced the first mining tour
piloted in northern Quang Ninh province on August 24.
Dressed in protective apparel, 45 tourists from ten countries and territories,
including the US, the UK, Japan and Thailand, toured mines and had lunch with
miners.
They were not allowed to go inside pits for safety reasons.
Ha Quang Long, Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and
Tourism, said positive feedback from the tourists could lead to the birth of a
new tourism product in the locality..
