Ba Ria – Vung Tau greets more than 8 million tourists
The Ba Ria – Vung Tau Department of Culture,
Sports and Tourism reported that in October the province welcomed 204,000
tourists, raising the figure for whole ten months of this year to 8 million
reaching 95.95% of the year’s target.

Flag planted on Fansipan peak to mark Hanoi’s birthday
A flag commemorating symbolising the capital city
of Hanoi’s millennium was planted by amateur climbers on the nation’s highest
mountain - Fansipan peak at 3,143 m above sea level - in the northern province
of Lao Cai on Nov. 2.

It was the first time the Vietnam National
Administration of Tourism had to organize two press conferences to speak about
the contest within less then two months to choose a new logo/slogan for
Vietnamese tourism for 2011-2015.

Vietnam to survey location for int’l yacht race
Vietnam’s tourism and sport authorities are
joining hands with the World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) to look into conditions in
Halong to see whether the northern city is fit for an international yacht
competition.

Travel agencies gear up for Tet holidays
Travel agencies nationwide have prepared tours for
overseas Vietnamese, who are expected to return home at the end of this year for
the Lunar New Year Festival.

Northern provinces attract visitors
The tourism program “Returning to Roots” launched
by three northern provinces of Lao Cai, Yen Bai and Phu Tho, has attracted more
than 2 million visitors in 2010.
