RoK supports Ha Long Bay as new world wonder
The Republic of Korea (RoK)
Embassy and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) on April 7 opened
a showroom at the Hanoi Daewoo Hotel to promote the image of Ha Long Bay in
support for its race to become one of seven new world wonders.

Hanoi and Kumho Asiana Corps will jointly sponsor, at the opening ceremony of
the Daewoo Hotel in Hanoi, a campaign to promote Ha Long Bay.

The Quang Ninh People’s
Committee yesterday announced the launch of the Halong Tourism Festival 2009 and
the opening of an exhibition to display “Made in Quang Ninh” products, which
will take place from April 24th to May 2nd 2009 with the theme “Halong Wonder –
Rendezvous”.

UK cruise liner visits Ha Long
Nearly 1,900 international
tourists were aboard the Arcadia, the second largest cruise ship in the British
owned P&O cruise fleet when it docked in Ha Long on March 15.

Ferry service to help promote Tuan Chau’s tourism
A ferry service to bring
tourists from Tuan Chau Town in Ha Long District, Quang Ninh Province, to the
Gia Luan Ferry in Cat Hai District, Hai Phong, is scheduled to be launched at
the end of March, 2009.

An ode to Ha Long Bay
It was my fourth visit to Ha
Long Bay, but the first time my mother and I could together float on the sea,
from sunset to sunrise on a large wooden junk.
