Lanta Viet repays money to Vietnamese partners

Lanta Viet, a subsidiary of Russia’s Lanta Tour, has resumed its operations in line with procedures related to Russian tourists stranded in Binh Thuan under contract to local service providers.
Lanta Viet has already repaid money to a number of resorts and hotels in Mui Ne and will deal with the remaining resorts and hotels in the coming days, according to Nguyen Van Khoa, President of the Binh Thuan provincial Tourism Association.
Lanta Viet is currently owing about VND10 billion to its partners in Binh Thuan.
By February 5, nearly 70 Russian tourists had completed their procedures to leave Phan Thiet as scheduled.
The remaining Russian tourists are expected to leave Vietnam for their homeland by February 8.
Lanta Tour is a leading and age-old travel agency in Russia and has thousands of offices across the globe. The company suddenly stopped its operations on January 27 due to its failure to pay.
