Da Nang, Italy agree on closer tourism cooperation

Bookmark and Share

A seminar introducing economic cooperation opportunities was held in Da Nang on March 3, during which presentations about Viet Nam’s economic development, taxes, business climate, tourism and opportunities for investing were presented.
Speaking at the conference, Phung Tan Viet, vice chairman of the municipal People’s Committee assured those in attendance that the local governmental authorities are committed to providing a solid business climate conducive to the needs of Italian companies.
Currently, a delegation of leading Italian business leaders is in Da Nang evaluating business opportunities, particularly in the tourism and hospitality industries and looking for prospective business partners.
Tourism plays an important role in economic relations between Viet Nam and Italy and the seminar addressed opportunities for increased travel by Italian tourists thanks to the many cruise ships stopping in Da Nang’s harbour year-round.
At the seminar, Italy’s Livorno cruise port and Da Nang port signed a cooperation agreement for the current year.
Last year, the port’s total commercial trade with Italy reached nearly US$7.1 million.
